Cheney resignation rumors fly

Uncle Dick leaving?

Sparked by today's Washington Post story that suggests Vice President Cheney's office is involved in the Plame-CIA spy link investigation, government officials and advisers passed around rumors that the vice president might step aside and that President Bush would elevate Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

So that's what Condi (see my previous post) is up to. She gets the VP slot, W steps aside because he finally realizes he cannot rule when the polls show him pulling positive votes only from his relatives, and she becomes Prez. In 2008 she then runs against Hilary as an incumbent. Hannity's dream.

Sound far-fetched? Hell, this is the crew that came up with weapons of mass destruction in Iraq when inspectors said "none found".
