U.S. Troops Launch Fallujah Assault
Monday, November 08, 2004
This attack was supposed to boost the chance of having the elections run on time. It was designed to get "rid" of the insurgents. But when you read this article in theledger.com you get the feeling it, instead, may even widen the ranks of the Iraqis who are opposed to our occupation. "The Association of Muslim Scholars, an influential Sunni clerics group that has threatened to boycott elections, condemned the assault on Fallujah, calling it 'an illegal and illegitimate action against civilian and innocent people.'" Even al-Sadr, through a spokesman, is coming to the forefront again and urging the Iraqi troops to not help the Americans.
Hey, if we play things absolutely right, we will unite the Iraqis (except for the Kurds) - unite them against us.
