U.S. versus THE WORLD

Sunday Herald has an article about the recent DOD report that talks about us losing the "war for the hearts and minds of Iraq". Let's watch for the authors of this report to be booted out very soon. Writing about the "self-serving hypocrisy" about your boss is not a good idea. I applaud them for their courage and honesty, but I hope their resumes are up to date.

Just ask Michael Scheuer who wrote "Imperial Hubris." CIA one day, gone the next. Interesting article. I don't agree with everything this former spy says (kill more terrorists) but he does get several very important things:

"They're attacking us because of our unqualified support for Israel. They're attacking us because we've helped cement on their heads tyrannies in the Arab world ... for the last 40 years," he said. They're attacking us because we're in the Arabian Peninsula and it happens to be a holy place for them."
